🔥 Rocket Stove Basics
- A rocket stove is a small, insulated combustion chamber.
- Burns twigs or scrap wood with high efficiency.
- Directs heat upward for cooking.
- Produces less smoke than an open fire—saves fuel and keeps you discreet.
⚙️ Simple Build – Can Rocket Stove
- Materials: 1 large can (coffee/soup), 1 smaller can, tin snips, gloves.
- Steps:
- Cut a hole near the bottom of the large can for a fuel feed.
- Insert the smaller can as the angled feed tube.
- Punch air holes in the bottom of the large can for airflow.
- Place a pot directly on the can rim over the flame.
🛠 Alternate Builds
- Brick Rocket Stove: Stack 6–8 bricks to form an L-shaped chamber.
- Cinder Block Stove: One cinder block on its side becomes an instant fuel chamber.
- Clay/Sod Stove: Dig and shape an L-trench with vent holes.
🔥 Field Tips
- Use dry sticks no thicker than a finger for best draft.
- Feed fuel gradually—don’t overload.
- Block wind to keep airflow steady.
- Always place stove on stable, nonflammable ground.
